Build Confidence Through Teamwork
Every Tuesday after school, children decide what they want to make, plan it out on paper as a team, then design it on screen.
We print it during the week and they collect it the next session, paint it and bring it home. The first design often doesn't come out right, and working out why is the actual lesson.
Over six weeks they build up a collection of pieces they designed themselves. Small groups, run by primary school teachers, and the sessions are planned so a lot of what they do ties back to the curriculum.
Epic Chess
On Wednesday afternoons, children learn at their own pace in a friendly environment. Each week we look at something new as a class, opening principles, tactics like forks and pins, or how to finish a game off, and then the children work on it in their own groups and try it out in their games.
The class is completely beginner friendly and perfect for any child wanting to start their chess journey and have a bit of fun along the way.
